The cryptocurrency giant hopes that the influencer with 142 million subscribers will make it possible to popularize the crypto ecosystem as well as possible.
After partnering with Christiano Ronaldo, Binance has bet on a big new personality. On Thursday, the cryptocurrency giant announced that Khaby Lame, TikTok’s most followed influencer with 142 million followers, is becoming its official ambassador.
Binance, which has 120 million users, hopes in particular that the influencer will create a real craze around cryptocurrencies, and will help to deconstruct certain clichés on the web 3.
“Khaby has become a cultural icon and one of the most entertaining creators globally. We love his charm and sense of humor, and we think it will bring relevance and relativity as we evolve web adoption 3,” James Rothwell, Binance’s Global Vice President of Marketing, said in a press release. “With so much nuance around Web 3 and misinformation out there, it was a perfect match to have Khaby and help debunk some of the myths around Web 3.”
Binance is also expected to launch a collection of NFTs (non-fungible tokens) with Khaby Lame.
For his part, the influencer says he is “looking for new challenges and interesting content to share”.
“I’ve been interested in Web 3 for a while, and jumped at the chance to partner with Binance because it aligns perfectly with what I usually do: making complex things easy and fun for everyone. the world!” he said.
Binance is not the first crypto player to bet on personalities outside the ecosystem: Kylian Mbappé has just been named ambassador of the French unicorn Sorare.
