Barça: a big announcement will fall for Dembélé

FC Barcelona is about to complete the extension of French international Ousmane Dembélé. The world champion will probably accept the latest proposal from his management.

According to information from RMC Sports, the Dembélé soap opera is finally coming to an end. After months of discussions with the French winger’s clan and several rejected proposals, the Blaugrana club is on the verge of obtaining the agreement of the former Borussia Dortmund striker. The Catalan press even claims that negotiations are now over with the Blaugrana winger, whose contract expired on June 30. In reality, a few details would still need to be settled, but the vice-champion of Spain has never been so close to a happy ending.

According to information from Mundo Deportivo, Dembélé should quickly sign a new contract until June 2024, to the delight of Xavi who had been pushing for months to obtain this extension. Despite new physical glitches, the former Rennais achieved a remarkable end to the season with Barça, arousing the strong interest of several major European clubs. Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have tried to convince the world champion in recent months by promising him big signings, but the main interested party has obviously chosen the stability card.

Two French ejected?

While Samuel Umtiti’s loan with option to buy from Stade Rennais seemed imminent according to the Catalan press, the reality would be quite different. West France indeed affirms that the case of the French defender divides internally. Bruno Genesio is pushing to recruit the player trained at OL but some leaders seem to fear a huge flop due to the world champion’s repeated injuries. For his part, Clément Lenglet has chosen to continue his career in England. The French central defender has committed to Tottenham in the form of a loan without an option to buy.
